Pool Tables that Roll - Pool Tables on Casters
For those of us who live in the upper half of the country when it comes to pool tables, we’re lucky. We have an easy space to put them: in a basement or recreation room. For those of you who live South or West, yes, you do have better weather, but sometimes finding a place to put your table can be a challenge, if not impossible. That’s why, we’ve created a table just for you: a table that rolls.
If you think that building one of these is as easy as screwing a set of casters to the legs, you couldn’t be more wrong. The engineering challenges are complicated and if you don’t do it correctly, the results are catastrophic.
Pool tables are very heavy and when rolled, it creates a tremendous amount of lateral and vertical force. As you roll a table, the front legs want to move in towards the center of the table, while at the same time, the back legs are being pushed away form the table.
To counteract these forces, we reinforce both the cabinet and legs. We make the legs shorter to offset the additional height of the casters, and our casters don’t just swivel and lock down, they easily move up and down to adjust for levelness
Not only is there a lot of engineering, but the end result must look attractive. No one wants to see an ugly caster under a leg, so we manufacturer a matching shield that hides the caster and looks like part of the leg.
This feature opens up a lot of options for how and where you can put a table. This is so well engineered, one person can easily and safely move the table. One example, is if you have a smaller garage, after you leave in the morning, in about 5 minutes your kids can easily set themselves up for a fun day of playing pool and have it back out of the way by the time you get home. For those of you who love to play pool but have limited room, this is a great option.
Please note: Currently, as well made as these tables are, and as easily as they roll, they should only be rolled on either concrete, hardwood or very tight carpet. We are just beginning to address the issues of thicker pile carpet but at this point, we do not have a solution.
